A Georgia Courtroom of Appeals decide has died at age 64.
Choose Clyde Reese died on Saturday, the courtroom introduced, saying he died unexpectedly after a brief hospital keep. No reason for loss of life was given.
A former commissioner of the Division of Group Well being, Reese was appointed to the 15-judge courtroom in 2016 by Gov. Nathan Deal, successful election to a six-year time period in 2019.
Gov. Brian Kemp will appoint a substitute.

Reese and two cousins have been among the many first Black college students to attend Tempo Academy, an Atlanta personal college, in 1969. The three grew to become the primary Black college students to graduate from the college in 1976.

After graduating from Georgia State College, Reese labored together with his household’s actual property agency. He then enrolled in Mercer College’s legislation college, going to work for state authorities in 1996 after receiving his legislation diploma. He held positions with the Division of Insurance coverage, the Subsequent Damage Belief Fund, and the State Well being Planning Company.

Reese practiced privately from 2003 to 2007, returning to state authorities in 2007 as basic counsel of the Division of Group Well being. Gov. Sonny Perdue appointed him commissioner of the division in 2010. In 2011, Deal named him commissioner of the Division of Human Companies, returning him to neighborhood well being commissioner in 2013.
Reese, a Lithia Springs resident, had 5 youngsters and three grandchildren. Funeral preparations haven’t but been introduced.
