London Knights middle Abakar Kazbekov has died on the age of 18, the workforce introduced on Saturday.
In a joint assertion from the Knights and the Ontario Hockey League, the workforce and the league prolonged their condolences to Kazbekov’s household and associates. In addition they introduced that the Knights’ sport towards the Flint Firebirds on Saturday evening has been postponed.
“The Ontario Hockey League and the London Knights are saddened to announce the sudden passing of participant Abakar Kazbekov,” the Knights and the OHL mentioned in a press release.
“Abakar has been a valued member of the workforce since 2021. Our ideas are along with his household, associates and teammates.
“Tonight’s sport in London between the London Knights and Flint Firebirds has been postponed.”
Kazbekov performed within the Knights’ 5-2 win over the Owen Sound Assault on Friday evening, and his demise occurred in downtown London, in line with a report from The London Free Press. Police have been known as to an intersection outdoors the Azure Condominiums round 8:00 a.m. after a physique was discovered at that location.
Police closed the intersection to analyze the scene, and foul play isn’t suspected in Kazbekov’s demise.
Kazbekov was a first-round choose by the Knights within the 2021 under-18 draft and spent the final two years with the workforce. In 21 video games with the Knights, Kazbekov recorded one purpose and one help.
