Photographs: Chicago space prepares for snow, bitter chilly

In single-digit temperatures, Dan Haupert, of Crystal Lake, stands at his father’s, William Haupert, grave and recites mass to him and the deceased round him at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Cemetery on Dec. 19, 2022, in Palatine. Most of the graves, like Haupert’s, are adorned with wreaths and Christmas decorations. Haupert even makes use of his father’s personal prayer e-book.
